Auditions set for 10-minute play festival

Island Theatre will hold auditions for the 2022 Ten-Minute Play Festival May 7-8 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the historic Lynwood Theater on Bainbridge Island.

The 10 short plays in the festival include roles for 26 actors from high school age to senior citizen. Auditions are open to all interested actors. Actors must register ahead of time at www.islandtheatre.org.

Actors selected for roles must be available during festival production week Aug. 14–20 and for rehearsals that will be arranged by each play’s cast and director. Festival performances and production week rehearsals will be held at Bainbridge Cinemas at the Pavilion.

No monologues are necessary for auditions. Actors should come prepared to read short scenes from festival plays. Sides for review will be provided by email when registering for auditions.

The Ten-Minute Play Festival is Island Theatre’s showcase of Kitsap County playwrights, actors and directors. The plays chosen for this year’s festival include dramas, comedies and dramedies, and provide a wide range of roles.

The 2022 ninth annual Ten-Minute Play Festival is partly supported by a grant from the city of Bainbridge Island Cultural Fund and donations through One Call For All. Run by volunteers, Island Theatre is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supported by donations and the Bainbridge Community Foundation. For details go to www.IslandTheatre.org.

The theater is located at 4569 Lynwood Center on BI.
